Fraser Hart will open its newest store in Colchester town centre this Thursday after completing a four-month project to get the site ready for launch.

The chain confirmed plans earlier this year to move into the Essex town and has spent the time since converting two units into one.

The units were formerly occupied by mobile phone giant EE, which is relocating to a larger store in Colchester, and Jones Bootmaker, which closed last year.

Fraser Hart will employ seven staff at the shop, which will be run by Samantha Ratcliffe.

She told the Essex County Standard: “Colchester is a lovely historic town, which has a diverse shopping community. It’s an affluent town which we want to be part of and has a great mix of unique high street brands.”

One of Fraser Hart’s unique features is its own diamond ranges, Brilliant Fire and Aurora, and it also houses silver jewellery brand, Apassionata.

The shop has its own dedicated diamond area, private viewing areas and an area specially for watches.

David Robertson, centre manager at Culver Square, added: “It’s all about giving shoppers a choice and a full range of jewellery, from high end to cosmetic. It’s fantastic to have Fraser Hart coming into Culver Square. It shows there’s confidence in Colchester and businesses are willing to make significant investment in the town.”
