Gem Kreatives, the UK creative agency, is set to launch a Photo Partnership Scheme to help jewellery designers navigate a challenging period in the industry.
Starting in summer 2021, Gem Kreatives will organise and stage social media photoshoots for interested parties at no cost to the partner.
From this, high-quality jewellery content will be produced which can then be purchased from the Gem Kreatives website: http://gemkreatives.com/partnership-scheme.html
Social media assets can be a difference-maker!
For a designer, it’s all about creating a beautiful jewellery collection. But that’s a costly and time-consuming task, and the social media assets needed to advertise the jewels often fall by the wayside.
Gem Kreatives believe that its partnership scheme will be a win-win as a result.
Gem Kreatives’s lead photographer, Julia Flit, said: “The idea for the partnership scheme came out of conversations we were having with clients.
“Across the industry, there’s a lot of uncertainty at the moment, and designers are afraid to commit to costly contracts and day rates without a guarantee that it will lead to sales.
“By using our network and our in-house skills, we can take care of the upfront costs, and alleviate some of this stress. The only thing the partner pays for is the fee for couriering their jewellery to our London studio.”
Gem Kreatives co-founder, Liza Urla, agreed: “A lot of designers don’t understand how to use social media to the max. They use it with the best will in the world, but make a few key mistakes.”
Quality photos and a well-curated feed are essential, they say, and will help designers stand out from the competition. “Now is the time to take your social media to the next level,” Urla continued, “because there’s a captive audience on an app like Instagram – and all it takes is one photo to turn someone into a customer.”
By shouldering the upfront costs that come with staging a photoshoot, as well as organising models if needed, Flit and Urla believe they’ll help businesses flourish – something that can only be good for the industry as a whole.
