Freeform Fabrication, UK distributor for the DaDo laser welder range, is hosting a series of workshops intended to educate the industry on how to use the jewellery design product.

The sessions will cover a variety of design techniques, including re-tipping, ring sizing, jump ring securing, porosity repair, chain repair, and working around stones.

The sessions are led by Paul Paine and will also feature discussion of repair of plated jewellery, as well as watch repair.


Paine is a reputed goldsmith and owner of Southchurch Jewellers in Essex with more than three decades of experience in the trade.

The sessions will take place on Monday 10 May, which Freeform said is nearly fully booked, Tuesday 11 May and Monday 17 May between 10am-3pm.

They will be held at the following address: Freeform Fabrication, Unit 1 Meadway Court, Meadway Technology Park, Stevenage, SG1 2EF.

The company is offering pick-ups from Stevenage train station.

Bookings on or before 12 April will cost £250pp + VAT, while those who book after that date will pay £350pp + VAT.
