Fife’s Jessop Jewellers is marking its 50th anniversary with the installation of a completely new shopfront.
The business, located in Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes, was founded in 1971 as a watch and clock repair shop. It now offers jewellery from Pandora, Swarovski, Emporio Armani and more.
All of its watches and jewellery can be viewed on a new e-commerce site launched earlier this year.
Originally opened by George Jessop, the business is now run by husband-and-wife team Christopher and Sophie Jessop two generations later after a 45-year stewardship by Paul Jessop.
In addition to the new shopfront, the jeweller has promised “in-store offers and celebrations” between now and Christmas as part of the 50th anniversary.
Sophie Jessop, director, said: “We are both delighted to celebrate our 50th anniversary with a bespoke new shop front (installed by the incredible Gill Segar of iCatcha Displays) and help our customers mark their own special occasions; from proposals to golden wedding anniversaries, births and birthdays.
“It’s a milestone age for any business, especially in a ‘new town’ and in the challenging retail industry. We highly value all our wonderful and loyal customers, new and old (many of whom have shopped with us since the very beginning).
She continued: “Whilst retail sales continues to grow post re-opening, our jewellery and watch repairs department has experienced record months.”
On site repairs manager, Anita Munro, added: “Our customers are certainly more nostalgic post pandemic.
“From redesigning inherited jewellery to restoring sentimental watches, our customers are eager to invest into the their own collection more than ever before; maintaining the sentiment and heirloom for generations to come”.
