Maya Gemstones, which specialises in ‘triangle-cut’ diamond jewellery, has released a new collection as a farewell to 2020.

Olga Pekarevskaia, founder of Maya Gemstones, wanted to create a line of jewellery that would represent what the world has been through in the last year.

Each piece has been designed in a jolted zig-zag formation, to represent the twists and turns of 2020.

Meanwhile, the engraved phrase ‘This too shall pass’ is to remind the wearer to have hope for the future that these difficult times will pass.

The inscription is on the edge of each piece, so that it is visible at all times.

ZigZag includes statement pendants, rings and earrings, and features colourful rainbow sapphires, diamonds and ‘Maya-cut’ triangular stones, such as deep blue tanzanites and pretty pink tourmalines.

Olga Pekarevskaia, founder of Maya Gemstones, said: “At first I was planning to release a signet ring with the phrase ‘This too shall pass’, but I decided that 2020 needed a bigger commemoration to symbolise its ups and downs, because there have been many.

“The collection has been released just in time for Christmas and we hope that these pieces will be sentimental for those who wear them, and that the secret message inscribed will offer a little light in times of darkness.”
