The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GC&DC) has announced that its Craftsmanship & Design Awards will take place in a virtual format this year.

This free ticketed event will mark the ceremony’s first-ever virtual iteration, and is set to take place on Monday 17 May 2021.

The annual awards have been organised by the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council for more than 100 years and are traditionally held at the Goldsmiths’ Hall in London. It will this year be held virtually from the venue.

The event will see the unveiling of the winners of a range of awards, including the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.

Peter Crump, chairman of GC&DC, said: “While Covid-19 means we cannot have a physical ceremony in 2021, we are thrilled to open doors to our first-ever virtual Awards, and encourage all entrants to reserve their tickets as soon as possible.

“With even greater digital capacity to host family, friends, colleagues and those who simply love jewellery and silversmithing, this year’s event will mark our biggest celebration to-date, and we look forward to revealing our wonderful winners on May 17th.”

The council recently rung in the changes with eight new members announced. Read more below:
