The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GCDC) together with the Goldsmiths’ Centre will be hosting an exclusive evening with previous winners of the renowned Goldsmiths’ Company Award.
On Wednesday, February 13, five creative talents from the UK jewellery and silversmithing industries will share their inspiring stories, revealing the standard of work and commitment required to be a celebrated winner of this flagship prize at the annual GDC Awards.
The designers speaking will be:
- Tom Rucker – Winner 2017 – GEO.NIOT Platinum and Diamond Brooch/Pendant
- John Moore – Winner 2016 – Silver and Diamond Necklace
- Ornella Iannuzzi – Winner 2015 – The Uprising Ring
- Zoë Harding – Winner 2013 – Conserving our Arctic Habitat Medal
- Fred Rich – Winner 2009 – Enamelled Jug & Dish
The evening will be moderated by GCDC trustee, Kathryn Bishop, who will delve into each of their stories from the past decade, exploring their design ethos, fine craftsmanship and sharing their advice and hopes for the UK industry as it looks to the future.
Furthermore, GCDC is currently hosting a ‘Retrospective’ exhibition at the Goldsmiths Centre, which features designs from last year’s award winners.
The showcase, which runs until March, also celebrates 30 years of the Goldsmiths’ Company’s involvement and support of this prestigious award.
