Gecko achieves international success at BaselWorld


Children’s brand D for Diamond proves popular with distributors.

Gecko Jewellery has reported a successful BaselWorld 2014, impressing key distributors for its children’s brand D for Diamond, as well as Fred Bennett and Fiorelli.

The company returned to Basel this year in a bid to increase international brand awareness and gained nearly 60 new contacts from over 30 countries, according to Gecko’s international business development sales manager, Alex van Monta.

In addition, the company made headway in developing new markets with 20 new territories interested in stocking their jewellery brand, from independent retailers in Brazil, Ecuador and Estonia to multiple retailers from Azerbaijan, France, Germany and Qatar.

Gecko encountered six distributors interested in its wares, with the majority focussed on its children’s jewellery brand D for Diamond (42%), followed by Fiorelli Jewellery (32%) and Fred Bennett (26%).
