In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Gecko are excited to announce our inclusion in the official book “Her Majesty the Queen: The official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album”, commissioned by SSAFA.
It is the only official book being published for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant and launches on Sunday 5th June 2022.
Gecko were asked to be part of the book, showcasing its heritage from a market stall in London up to a leading UK jewellery supplier, working from our 20,000 square foot distribution centre and supplying over 2,000 retailers in the UK.
Gecko commented: “To celebrate not only the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee but also the unique opportunity we have been given to be part of this special book we wanted to utilise our leading design capabilities and create a truly stunning piece of jewellery.
“Our designers worked on a piece that not only reflected the Queen’s reign but also allowed us to show off our skills in design, sustainability and sourcing.”
Adding: “We are incredibly proud of the end result, a stunning necklace made using lab created sapphires, lab created diamonds and set in recycled platinum, which has been hand crafted by our sister company Weston Beamor, based in Birmingham.”
The necklace is approximately 14 grams in weight and has over 7 carats of lab created sapphires, alongside nearly 2 carats of lab created diamonds, all set into recycled platinum.
The piece is beautifully designed with stunning detailing on both the front and back, a truly magnificent piece.
The commemorative album has been published by St James House and commissioned by SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) the Armed Forces Charity, of which the Queen has been a patron for 70 years. In support of the charity, Gecko will be auctioning the necklace soon and all profits will be donated to SSAFA.
