Pearl jewellery, rubies and cluster rings proving popular.

Jewellery manufacturer Gecko has noted a rise in demand for more traditional designs such as cluster rings and simple pendants featuring stones such as pearls and rubies.

The UK-based company showcased its collections at the Ireland Jewellery Showcase this week. It says the more classic designs in its Elements Gold collections have been proving popular with retailers.

Gecko Jewellery is now starting to push its 9ct gold collections, working with the metal to create jewellery in larger shapes with a heavy appearance but that is actually lightweight.

The collections are being made to fit within the £150 to £300 RRP price bracket.

Gecko Jeweller has showcased its various collections at the Ireland Jewellery Showcase this week, a boutique trade show that takes place in Belfast, Cork and Dublin over the space of a week.

Andy Spencely, northwest sales manager for the company, said that Ireland is a burgeoning market for Gecko and that its children’s brand D for Diamond had been proving especially popular.

“D for Diamond has been very strong in Ireland as consumers will spend money on their kids at the moment,” he said.
