Dinner, conference & guest speaker seminars to take place in December.

The Midlands brand of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain – Gem-A – celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, and will host a special dinner and conference in celebration.
Gem Midlands will host the event at The Menzies Strathallan Hotel in Birmingham, beginning on November 30 with a special address from John Benjamin, an accredited valuer and insurance expert.
The dinner will be hosted on December 1 with a weekend a conference concluding the weekend’s events on December 2.
Seminars will be hosted during the conference from a number of industry experts. Professor Alan Collins will discuss the causes of colour changes in diamonds, geologist and director of Rocks Galore, Davina Dryland talking about crystallization in the magma chamber and Alan Hodkinson who will speak about the unusual gemstones that he has encountered over the past year.
