Gemex will take its wares to The Jewellery Show in Birmingham next month.

Jewellery supplier invests in rings for top end as demand soars.

Gemex has been investing in creating ranges of diamond rings at 4ct+ as demand from the upper end of the market is on the rise.

The jewellery manufacturer, which won Platinum Bridal Collection of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards in July, has been upping its stock of rings set with between 4ct and 7ct of diamonds. It now has more than 50 rings in this bracket with some carrying RRPs of as high as £15,000.

The 4ct+ market is new territory for Gemex which up until last year was only producing rings set with a maximum of 3ct.
Gemex sales director Lee Ruben said: “The top end of the market is very strong. I don’t care what people say about the recession.”

Ruben has added that part of the reasoning behind the push is a new partnership with the Houlden buying group, which he said has brought Gemex “a better clientele”.
