Jewellery brand Georg Jensen has updated its Moonlight Grapes collection for spring and summer 2021.

The collection now comes with more than a dozen new additions for SS21, focusing on a new lighter design style.

The newest designs — which were inspired by the boldness of the original Moonlight Grape ring — play with asymmetry, the brand said, using beads of various sizes to create more abstract, grape-like clusters.

This includes 18-karat yellow gold and diamond designs, with bracelets, earrings, necklaces and ear cuffs featuring.

“The language Georg Jensen created with the grape motif is so strong that there are many ways to work with the design,” said Georg Jensen’s chief creative officer, Nicholas Manville. “It lends itself to large, sculptural pieces and to more delicate classics in both silver and gold, and gold with diamonds.

“The collection has many characters and is designed to tell many stories; from classic to modern, bold to delicate, playful to elegant.”

Talking about the brand’s history with grape-inspired pieces, Manville added: “The Moonlight Grapes collection started in 2010 drawing inspiration from Georg Jensen’s deep history of designing with grape motifs.

“The first grapes appeared in 1918 in silver hollowware and have evolved for over a century into the iconic collection we see today. Now, the collection is a more sculptural and free interpretation of
grapes but with the same subtlety of light and shadow found in the earliest pieces.”
