Prize-winning entries from the Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship & Design Council (GCDC) awards 2015 will exhibit at the Goldsmiths’ Centre from January 19 – March 8 2016.
The prizes represent the only peer reviewed technical and design awards in the UK.
Selected works by prominent industry figures, the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council ambassadors Leo De Vroomen, Shaun Leane and Stephen Webster, will also be featured.
The exhibition will include gold and silver award-winning pieces from the 2015 competition including:
- The Uprising Ring by Ornella Iannuzzi – Winner of the Precious Jewellery, Special Award sponsored by IJL (International Jewellery London); The Goldsmiths’ Company Award
- Engraved Pictorial Plate by James Handyside – Winner of Engravers, Die Sinkers & Seal Engravers, Gold Award – Junior; The Podolsky Award; The Junior Award; The Theo Fennell Apprentice/Master Award. *James is an indentured apprentice with the Goldsmiths’ Centre/Company.
- Executive LED Lamp by Clive Taylor – Winner of the Technological Innovation Award sponsored by the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office London; Best Senior Award.
GCDC chairman Jos Skeates explains: “The award-winning entries reflect talent, imagination, skills and the Council’s benchmark standards whilst all three of our exceptional Ambassadors represent the founding ethos of the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council – to encourage, stimulate and promote excellence in craftsmanship and design.”
