The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GC&DC) has put out the call for council member applications from within the jewellery industry and beyond.
Hoping to diversify the skillsets and expertise among its voluntary members, the council hopes for applications from a wide variety of industries.
It mentioned specifically sectors such as finance, design, education, advertising, fundraising, marketing, diversity and inclusion.
Despite this, it still welcomes applications from those with specialist industry experience in jewellery, silversmithing and the allied trades.
Applicants should be versed in the ever-evolving world of business and the creative arts, the non-profit said, with experience across governance, finance, sustainability and social responsibility, and diversity and inclusion particularly welcome.
The ideal candidate would also have a passion for voluntary work and the jewellery industry, as well as a network of contacts ready to share with the council.
Chairman Peter Crump said: “Our voluntary council members form the core function of the GC&DC. Their role is to provide expertise, experience, knowledge, advice and support to the council and its trustees to further the GC&DC’s remit.
“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be at the heart of a tremendously creative and innovative industry. We are seeking individuals with a great passion and commitment to both the industry and the objectives of the GC&DC.”
Applications close 20 September, with more information on applying available on the council’s website.
