Jeweller will raise funds from staff and customers throughout the UK.

Goldsmiths is using its 118 stores across the UK to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The charity supports the work of The Royal Marsden hospital, a world-leading cancer centre that is at the forefront of cancer research, and provides treatment and care for more than 40,000 cancer patients every year.

Customers will be able to make a donation at any Goldsmiths jeweller or via its online store.

The company’s employees will also be taking part in sponsored fundraising events such as the London Marathon to support the cause.

“We believe that it is our responsibility to go beyond the basics of ethical business practices and as such, feel a natural, ongoing obligation to charitable causes. The Royal Marsden is an impressive organisation that has benefited the lives of thousands of people and we look forward to assisting them in fundraising for such a worthy cause,” said Richard Gerrard, HR director of Goldsmiths’ parent company Aurum Holdings.

Amanda Heaton, fundraising and community development manager at The Royal Marsden, added: “We are very excited about our partnership with Goldsmiths and what it may lead to over the coming years. It’s a great boost to the charity to have the support of such a respectable national brand.”
