Hallmarking posts positive lift for first month of 2019

Hallmarking figures compiled by Assay Office Birmingham for January 2019 showed an 8.1% increase in items assayed compared to the same period in 2018.

Platinum and gold both cited double-digit growth of 19.1% and 17.9% respectively, while silver posted a 2.7% rise.

Palladium was the only metal to record a dip during the first month of the year.
