Hallmarking suffers monthly slump of 14%

Figures compiled by Assay Office Birmingham for November 2019 show a decrease in items hallmarked compared to the same period last year.

Overall, the number of units hallmarked by the four UK Assay Offices in November 2019 was down by 14.4%.

All metals suffered apart from platinum, which posted a 10.8% growth.

Palladium dipped by over 60%, while silver and gold citied a 19.8% and 8.8% decrease respectively.
