Cred continues to be one of the pillars of the ethical jewellery community.
As well as supporting major industry initiatives, like the launch of Fairtrade gold from Africa, and helping other designers to create ethical collections, such the category’s winner Liz Earle, Cred has been busy releasing new collections of jewellery of its own.
The Grace collection of rings is an important line for the brand as it challenges the perception of Fairtrade gold as the expensive choice. While the metal does carry a small premium, the designers at Cred have worked hard to navigate this to offer a competitively priced collection of diamond rings that all have retail price points of less than £1,000. Intricate settings have been used to maximise the light reflecting from diamond solitaires to boost their sparkle and make the stones appear larger.
Other clever techniques include creating the illusion of pavé through millegrain or cluster settings of smaller diamonds that appear to be one larger stone when viewed at a distance.
