Holts are encouraging young people, who might not have previously considered a career in jewellery, but are creative and have an interest in being employed by the industry, or starting their own jewellery business, to get in touch to find out more about the course. Skills learnt will include engraving, gemstone setting, cutting metal and setting up a bench studio, as well as making and finishing several jewellery pieces to create a professional design portfolio.
