Events with UK jewellers to focus on their careers and designs.

Holts Academy in Hatton Garden will host a number of evening events with jewellery designers and retailers in the coming months, giving industry members and the public a chance to hear about their careers and see some of their work.

Commencing on February 8, Holts’ An Evening With… will be hosted in the academy’s Hatton Garden HQ.

So far, names signed up to take part in the evenings include British jewellery designer and Garrard creative director Stephen Webster, Vicki Sarge-Beamon of costume jewellery brand Erickson Beamon, Michael Wainwright of Boodles, curator Joanna Hardy and designer and retailer Jos Skeates of London’s EC One.

This series aims to inspire the next generation of new jewellery makers and designers with insight into the careers and development of well-known figures in the UK industry.

The informal sessions will feature a mix of presentations, interview-style conversations and handling sessions, lasting around two to three hours, including a wine reception.

Attendees will be encouraged to put their own questions to the speaker and perhaps even have their work reviewed.

Attendance is £8 to current Holts’ students and alumni and £12 for the public, and those interested are encouraged to book early as places at each event are limited.
