The retail extraordinaire known for his quiet and confident approach.
Dave Shone is Essex’s jewellery retailer extraordinaire. He operates two Emson Haig stores – one in Lakeside shopping centre and a second in the town of Loughton – and is also revered for his repertoire of Pandora franchise operations, opened with business partner and former Alfred Terry managing director Chris Burrow.
Dave is known for his quiet and considered approach to business but behind this is a strong work ethic, great vision and determination. He started life at the bench and still dabbles now and again while his retail ventures shine.
Emson Haig’s Lakeside shop has been in situ for more than 21 years – opening at the very beginning of the centre’s development – and today this flagship space is flanked by Swarovski, Links of London and Pandora boutiques, also overseen by the Emson Haig team. 2014 has also bought with it some trendsetting new additions to Emson Haig’s offer, with Dave quick to snap up two of this year’s must-have brands: hit American bangle brand Alex & Ani, and come mid-September, watch brand Tudor — also known as Rolex’s little brother.
And if the reaction on Emson Haig’s Facebook page is anything to go by, customers are looking forward to booking private appointments to view the collection and strap one of Tudor’s treasures to their wrists. “The mixture of products, classic styles, modern design and overseas influences allow us to appeal to a wide range of customers,” Dave says of his shops. “We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and therefore believe knowledgeable well trained staff are essential.”
