Charlotte Valkeniers is a born hard-worker, having spent the last year showcasing her designs at Somerset House during London Fashion Week and Premiere Classe during Paris Fashion Week. At both events Charlotte managed to build contacts and relationships that have helped push her brand in the right direction.

“I’m truly honoured to be a part of the Hot 100,” she says. “So many amazing people have been selected for this in the past that it almost feels a bit surreal to be a part of it now.

“I think all of the events we took part in over the past year have generally increased the awareness around our brand and jewellery. It has also reinforced the work we have been doing and the style of the brand. Sometimes as a young company it’s hard, and having these successes once in a while just keeps you going.

“We try to take things season-by-season and year-by-year and just see how things evolve, however we obviously do have ambitions and dreams for the brand. Being selected to partake in these shows and being put forward for industry awards is helping us get that bit closer to achieving our goals.”

And successes have been coming thick and fast for Charlotte, who has secured as a stockist for her designs in recent months. “I can only hope that if we keep working and learning we will keep growing and one day achieve our goals,” says Charlotte. At the moment it seems life is all work and no play for Charlotte, as the early stages of brand building take over. She says: “Work takes priority over any other aspect in my life — beside my dog that is. I’m learning and I’m trying to build a team around the brand, myself and company that will allow me to take a step back once in a while. It’s not easy to trust people to look after what you have been building and working so hard for. Hopefully one day I will be a true multi-tasker.”
