Peter Wong loves running, and he loves Merseyside. So where better for his Hot 100 shoot than in front of the World Heritage Site that is the Liverpool Waterfront where you’ll often find him pounding the pavement on a 10k run.
It is also a stone’s throw from his jewellery boutique and workshop just up the road in Whitechapel, where Peter and his team are fast emerging as one of the most innovative jewellers in the North-West.
“I feel Wongs is beginning to receive the recognition it deserves as a forward-thinking jewellers, both in the trade press and in the public domain on social media, which is appealing to an ever-growing more diverse customer base. We offer a traditional product, wedding and engagement rings, with a modern fresh approach. The recognition is helping us to take on brands who only like to be seen in the best jewellery shops,” Peter explains.
Wongs is a relative newcomer to the world of family jewellers that can often trace their lineage back several generations. The company’s first store opened in 1979, but has moved premises twice as the business grew, and will add a second store next year to take advantage of a growing clamour by big name brands to become part of the Wongs success story.
There is no great secret behind this success, according to Peter, it is down to the hard work and talent of the entire Wongs team.
