There aren’t many people in the jewellery trade as universally liked as Ivonna Poplanska, who shot to industry fame when her Eternal Dove brooch was worn by the Queen in 2012.

Cut forward a few years and Ivonna has been busy working as the creative director for fine diamond and gemstone jewellery company, UJT Ltd. During her time there she has launched multiple brands, including Boudici and Reverie Diamond, which she is particularly proud of.

She says of Reverie Diamond: “This launch has been a long time in making with ‘road-testing’ the product for over a year prior to branding it. After recognising a successful sell through, we’ve given it a beautiful POS, packaging and everything else that is required to have a beautifully presented product in a shop window. Pre-launch we’ve already opened 20 accounts with our Reverie Diamond displays delighting our independent retailers and multiples.”


Now, Ivonna can boast growth in all areas of UJT’s business, culminating in an impressive 35sqm space at Jewellery & Watch Birmingham and a similar space on International Jewellery London’s coveted boulevard. “With the offering of fully branded collections, we have partnered with 15 new retailers in the first half of 2015 and have generated a 300% increase in this year’s Christmas reorders from existing accounts in comparison to that of 2014,” she says proudly.

Another proud moment took place earlier this year, when Ivonna was asked to curate a special exhibition ‘Amber – The Baltic Jewel’ by the Latvian Embassy – a task she was “deeply honoured” to undertake.

When she’s not working you’ll find Ivonna running (and swimming) in Hampstead Heath, or packing for her much-anticipated French getaway. She notes: “My days will be spent lazing around the pool and indulging myself with a gorgeous glass of Malbec and a good book.”
