HOT 100 NEXGEMS: Rosie Fortescue, CEO, Rosie Fortescue Jewellery


When Rosie Fortescue launched her second jewellery collection at Fortnum & Mason this year there was a moment when she had to pinch herself to make sure it was real.

“Launching my collection there was literally a childhood dream come true,” she admits, adding: “It was the best experience to work with such a fantastic team and to be so supported by such an influential store.”

Although very much the icing on the cake, Fortnum & Mason is just one of a handful of influential stockists that Rosie has worked hard to court as the brand has taken off since her original 38-piece collection hit the shelves last year.

Her opening range of stacking rings, delicate bracelets with multicoloured gemstones and ear jackets proved a hit with super-cool boutiques such as Baar and Bass, B London Boutique and Rumpus Resort, which offer a route-to-market that epitomises the edginess of her brand.

As any upcoming jewellery designer knows, the work doesn’t stop the moment a retailer places an order. Brand awareness is a constant challenge and new businesses have to harness every marketing channel available to stay visible. That fact certainly isn’t lost on the Made in Chelsea star, who is also renowned for her successful fashion and lifestyle blog, AtFashionForte.

“Gifting for bloggers and celebrities has been a big push for my second collection,” she reveals. “In fact, I am just about to send my hand cuffs to Kendall and Kylie Jenner, which they have requested, which is incredibly exciting!”

Away from work, Rosie unwinds by visiting art galleries and attending gym classes. “The gym enables me to literally step away from my phone and technology for 45 minutes, which is essential a few times a week. Spending time with my family and dog, Noodle, also makes me feel totally at ease.”
