For the past 12 months, Michael and Allison Aldridge have been intently focused on strengthening the foundations of their highly successful jewellery business, Neil & Barker.
“In particular we have been working towards a more efficient business, by putting the correct staff in place with the relevant experience to ensure the growth of our company. For example, we have now employed an executive to run our website and work to improve our online presence,” says Michael, who has also recently joined the CMJ board of directors.
For this husband-and-wife team every part of the business is important, and through closely monitoring each aspect, and acting accordingly, they are able to achieve great things. “The business is constantly evolving, and in this fast-changing world of jewellery and brands we are always looking at how we can improve our offering for customers,” Allison affirms.
By the end of 2016 Neil & Barker will have expanded to four stores, with more set to open in the near future. “Although this year has been a busy one, we expect 2017 to be a decision-making year,” says Michael. “We will also be changing our Ti Sento store in the Trafford Centre, Manchester, into a dual-brand store by adding watches from Henry London, which is a very exciting prospect and will be the first exclusive store in the UK.”
Despite all the hard work there has still been time to enjoy family life, however. Pictured here by the snooker table at their home of 20 years, Michael and Allison were proud to see their daughter Katherine – also a member of the Neil & Barker team – walk down the aisle earlier this year. And with their son Matthew, who works for Bering watches, also set to tie the knot, it looks like more celebrations are on the horizon.
