Despite an increasingly testing retail environment, Houlden has reported its most successful show in three years.
During the buying group’s summer gathering in June, the total value of orders placed during the supplier exhibition increased by 40% when compared to the previous years’ event.
The summer shows offer the opportunity for the group’s retail members to ensure stock is in place before the festive trading period commences.
Orders per supplier saw a 10% improvement since last year, with these figures revealing Houlden members continue to invest in stock despite time of uncertainty on the British high street.
Furthermore, Houlden suppliers are responding well to the target market and providing the products members need at the right time and price point.
