Touring exhibit will stop in London showcasing 42 jewellery designs.
The Houlden buying group’s Designs of Excellence collection will stop off in London during Jewellery Week with an exhibition of more than 40 items of jewellery from a host of contemporary designers and brands.
The show has been touring the UK at various Houlden group retail members’ stores, with the collection promoted through customer events. It will now spend two days the Jewellery Show London during Jewellery Week.
The Designs of Excellence collection is based on the jewellery designs entered into Houlden’s annual Designs of Excellence competition, typically held at the UK trade shows. William Cheshire was crowned the Designer of Excellence 2012, while 2011’s winner was Sarah Ho of SHO.
The 2012 Designs of Excellence collection features 42 handcrafted designs by nine of the UK’s leading and emerging designing talent including Alexander Davis, Leyla Abdollahi, Rachel Galley, SHO, Babette Wasserman, Cindy Dennis Mangan and William Cheshire.
Stuart Laing, chief executive of Houlden Group said: “The Designs of Excellence Collection has generated huge interest and it is really exciting to see the latest trends transformed into wonderful pieces of jewellery.
“There is no doubt that these designs are the classics of tomorrow and some pieces have already been seen on a number of celebrities. We would encourage people to come along and visit the Jewellery Show London as it’s an amazing chance to see some of the world’s most interesting jewellery designs.”
