Howard Levine has launched a new diamond business venture following his departure from Chalfen of London earlier this year.
With an aim to help bricks and mortar retailers secure engagement ring sales, Levine has launched Diamnet, an online diamond trading platform, which has been designed specifically with quality jewellery retailers in mind.
Once fully completed, Diamnet will be a multi faceted trading platform which will help retailers to find and connect with the best diamond buyers, cutters, wholesalers and mount makers around the world.
While the full business is still in production, Diamnet has officially launched now with its online diamond buying software, where retailers can search over 44,000 diamonds today.
“Most retailers will have one or two diamond dealers or even a manufacturer that they deal with on a regular basis,” explains Diamnet founder, Howard Levine. “Whenever there is an enquiry or something needed for stock these are the guys you would contact. Why limit yourself to just one or two sources? Diamnet brings together diamonds from the best cutters and wholesalers so you can have a better choice. You might find the source is in the end the same, but by putting this many diamonds together in a single resource, you are assured of finding the best stone at the best price.”
The next phases of the trading platform are currently underway, and once complete jewellery retailers will be able to find all the pieces they offer quality engagement rings and competitive prices. Independent jewellers will also be able create their own online portal in the form of a diamond boutique in the company’s own business name. The aim of this is to help retailers compete both in store and online.
By providing digital tools, Diamnet’s aim is to give bricks and mortar retailers the ability to compete on a level playing field with established online retailers, and push the sales of engagement rings back to the high street independent jeweller.
