The drop-in clinics are designed to give visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to meet experts from a diverse range of business disciplines on a one-to-one basis during the show.
The practical sessions will run in half-hour slots and cover everything from business security, marketing and training to pensions, branding and visual merchandising know-how.
Following each session, participants will be given a to-do checklist as a way of auctioning their learnings when the show ends.
Industry experts include SIJ Wealth Management pension specialist, Richard Pope; retail sales expert from Virada Training, Debbie Barrow; SPC Support UK Ltd security specialist, Hilaire O’Shea; expert in family succession planning from Family Buisiness United, Paul Andrews; brand expert from House Creative, Christine Colbert and The Value Innovator planning specialist, Michael Donaldson.
Event director of IJL, Sam Willoughby, explained: “It is such a bonus for visitors to IJL to be able to access this wealth of experience and we are really pleased to be able to offer everyone attending the show this exclusive source of information on a one-to-one basis. They clinics are designed to cover all the ‘hot topics’ facing business today. Another first for IJL at Olympia Grand!”
Chief executive officer of the NAG, Michael Rawlinson, added: "The world of retailing is becoming ever more complex and the daily skills required to operate the business extend well beyond the topics just associated with jewellery. I am delighted the Association is sponsoring this important initiative at IJL which will provide a further opportunity to support our members and the wider jewellery sector".
The Advice Clinics will be situated on the upper level in the Solutions & Services area. IJL 2014 will run from August 31 to September 2 2014 at Olympia Grand, London.
