International Jewellery London has revealed all the winners of this year’s Editor’s Choice awards, which recognise jewellery designers and suppliers who exhibit the most creative and cutting edge jewellery at IJL.
Earlier this year, IJL announced that its long-standing exhibitor awards, Editors’ Choice, had been given a makeover with a range of new categories designed to celebrate innovation, creativity and technical skill.
The first phase of this new iteration of Editors’ Choice was unveiled earlier this year at the Goldsmiths Centre, with designers Isabella Liu, The Rock Hound, and Franco Florenzi scooping the Creative Originality, Technical Trailblazer and Commercial Mastermind awards respectively.
The second phase took place at the show, where a panel of six editors, including our very own Stacey Hailes, were tasked with looking for this year’s Designer to Watch, Show Stopper, Visual Excellence and Exhibitor of the Year Awards on the first day of the event.
Their insights were then collated by the IJL Press Office and presided over by long-standing Editors’ Choice Judges, IJL event director, Sam Willoughby and luxury communications consultant, Claire Adler.
The winners were then presented with their awards on the Monday of the show.
Designer to Watch went to kickstart and Professional Jeweller Awards Young Jewellery Designer of the year finalists, Farrah Al-Dujaili, designer of emerging band Oddical. Al-Dujaili was praised for her innovative use of 3D printing techniques, plastics, precious metals and metal paint to create a fine jewellery aesthetic without the characteristic weight.

The Show Stopper Award went to luxury fine jewellery brand Nadine Aysoy, who launched in the UK this year and showcased at the event for the very first time. Aysoy scopped the accolade for an 18ct rose gold ring set with a South Sea Pearl and diamonds, which forms part of her Mille et Une Feuilles collection. Editor’s voted this piece as the most eye-catching at Olympia this year.

When it came to Visual Excellence, Les Georgettes caught the panels eye for its bright, vibrant and unique display cases and furniture. Exhibiting at the show for the very first time, Les Georgettes arrived with flair on the boulevard with colours, patterns and prints aplenty.

The IJL Exhibitor of the Year accolade went to Insignety, also a newcomer to the show and using the platform to launch in the UK for the first time. Located by the entrance, Insignety arrived in the UK with a bang. With a sophisticated bar, branded macaroons and an innovative product complete with modern technology, it is little wonder the accessible luxury brand won this prestigious award.
