Inhorgenta beats trade show blues with an increase in global exhibitors

Inhorgenta Munich 2019 opened this morning with 1,052 exhibitors from 41 countries — an increase of 2% — cramming into the Messe München exhibition hall.

Taking place at the Messe Munchen from February 22-February 25, this year’s show welcomed 1,052 exhibitors from 41 countries, representing the fourth consecutive year of growth for the event.

Compared to last year’s show, Inhorgenta has secured 252 more exhibitors, many of which have come from abroad.

“We are not only the leading trade fair in Germany, but are also considered one of the largest trade fairs for the timepieces, jewellery and gemstones industry worldwide,” says Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München.

The organiser says that it has bucked a trend of watchmakers walking away from trade shows by increasing its participation from watch brands by 16% this year thanks to creating a new Watch Boutique in the heart of Hall A1.

For Klaus Dittrich, having a customer focus has been the key to this continued success. He shares: “A successful trade fair must recognise and satisfy customer needs for both exhibitors and visitors. It’s also important to develop new ideas and implement these through sustainable concepts.”

The show also attributes its awards and trend-factory for drawing a crowd.
