It’s hard to know where to put Harriet Kelsall as her talents and achievements in the UK jewellery trade are not constrained to one category, but in today’s difficult retail environment, she absolutely deserves recognition for the success she’s had with her stores in London, Hertfordshire, and Cambridge.

Her eponymous business, Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery, is arguably one of the UK’s leading bespoke jewellery boutiques, and it continues to go from strength-to-strength.

As ‘bespoke’ and ‘personalisation’ continue to be buzzwords in the trade, Kelsall’s stores are perfectly placed to capture consumers looking for something truly unique to them. And, there’s obviously been demand for a store like Kelsall’s in London as the opening of a branch in Primrose Hill became an instant hit and increased turnover for the company.

Alongside securing sales and making a success of all three of her stores, the business owner is passionate about empowering her workforce and developing the talents of her 40-strong team.

Moreover, Kelsall runs the business alongside her role as chairman of the National Association of Jewellers, where she devotes a large portion of her working life to voluntarily helping the UK jewellery trade grow.

In addition, she’s also found time to write a book to help fellow creatives launch a business like she did (which scooped an accolade at the Business Book Awards this year), and regularly speaks at trade events.
