Istanbul Jewelry Show reports lift in international visitors

The Istanbul Jewelry Show experienced a lift in visitors to its October 2019 edition.

Organised by Informa Markets, the October edition marked the 49th show and introduced over 800 companies and brands from 20 countries to sector professionals from across the globe.

In totally the show, which was the organisers second one of the year, welcomed over 20,000 visitors from 127 countries.

Trade professionals are showing growing interest in the Istanbul Jewelry Show and Turkey every year. Evidence of this can be seen by the 12% increase in international visitors the the October edition, compared to the exhibit that took place at the same time last year.

Presidents of Associations from around 50 countries that had joined ASEAN Gems & Jewelry Association Conference as well as buyers from these countries visited Istanbul Jewelry Show. As part of the shows International Buyer Delegation Program over 1,000 buyers from 70 countries were hosted during the duration of the event.

The number of international visitors increased by 164% for African countries, by 41% for North American countries, 11% for Asian countries, 10% for Middle Eastern countries and by 8% for European countries.

The Istanbul Jewelry Show plays an important role to the Turkish jewellery industry reach. The country had an export target of USD 6 billion for 2019, and the show’s March and October Exhibitions of broke this record.

Young designers are also elevated, with the show placing them in a dedicated and popular Designer Market section.

Number of international visitors at our March 2019 exhibition had increased by 9%. And our October 2019 exhibition, where 51% of the visitors were from abroad, saw a 12% increase in number of international visitors.

The 50th Istanbul Jewelry Show will take place 19 – 22 March 2020.
