Italy in the spotlight for IJL Market Focus drive

New scheme to foster global commercial and cultural partnerships.

International Jewellery London has announced the launch of a major new initiative for 2015, aimed at creating global jewellery trade commercial and cultural partnerships.

The IJL Market Focus scheme will focus on Italy in its debut year, with ‘In Stile Italiano a IJL’ showcasing a select collection of Italian exhibitors at Olympia in September.

Each year a new country or region will be showcased as a “conduit to strengthen opportunities for businesses worldwide,” according to an official press release.

Event director, Sam Willoughby, commented: “The new Market Focus promises to be a really powerful annual event at IJL. We are hopeful that this feature will open doors to strengthen international trade as well as increase awareness about the showcased market’s design set. Italy is a world leader in jeweller and goldsmithing and IJL at Olympia will be a stunning back drop for this colourful and inspiring collective.”

So far, 70% of the show’s overall space has been booked with many brands planning to launch new collections at the event, including Italian brands Fope and Ponte Vecchio Gioielli.

IJL 2015 will run from September 6 to 8 at Olympia Grand, London.
