Jeremy France Jewellers closes in on independent retail double


Jeremy France Jewellers will find out this week if it has bagged its second business award of the summer when the winner of a competition to find Winchester’s favourite independent business is announced.

The jewellery firm has been shortlisted in the ‘retail’ category of the ‘Winchester’s Favourite Independent’ competition, which is run by Winchester BID, an organisation charged with creating a cleaner, safer and better managed city.

Jeremy France Jewellers is one of three companies shortlisted for the prize, alongside Kingsgate Wines & Provisions, and Parklife Kids. The winner will be announced on Thursday evening. More than 700 votes have been cast to decide the result, but the victor won’t find out until the night.

In June, Jeremy France Jewellers secured the award for Independent Business of the Year at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards 2016.

Jeremy France Jewellers has been operating in Winchester since 1990, after relocating following a number of successful years in Kent. In the years that have followed it has grown from a small family-run shop, with just two directors and one sales assistant to a thriving independent business.

It now employ six jewellery designers, six goldsmiths and a large team of sales assistants. Its onsite, state-of-the-art workshop offers in-house jewellery repairs and handmade commissions, as well as a 3D CAD jewellery design service.
