Brand to launch large shop-in-shop space in the “Harrods of Jersey”.

Pearl jewellery brand Jersey Pearl is set to open its first concession space in the lifestyle department store De Gruchys on its home island of Jersey.

The large-scale space has been described as “girly”, with bright pink carpet and mother of pearl tiles decorating the cabinets, as chosen by the brand’s wholesale director Mike Taylor.

It will open on May 3 and 4 in De Grucys, which is dubbed the “Harrods of jersey” due to its high-end, luxury brands and product. At present it sells jewellery and watches by brands including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Mont Blanc.

The brand says it is likely to host a soft launch the concession with a few bottles of Champagne. The concession space is a first for the brand, which at present is sold through smaller independent retailers. It has about 250 retail stockists in the UK.

De Grucys celebrated its 200th anniversary on Jersey in 2010 and occupies a landmark building in St. Helier town centre. At 76,000 square feet it is the largest retail outlet in the Channel Islands.
