Icelandic jewellery brand Aurum by Guðbjörg is going to introduce a range of sterling silver hairbands to complement its bridal offering this summer.
Based in Reykjavik, Guðbjörg, the designer and co-founder of Aurum, is constantly inspired by the Icelandic landscape around her, and each piece and collection is influenced by her environment and desire to design jewellery which has a close connection to nature.
For the brand’s hair accessories line, Aurum has married its inspiration with meanings that will resonate with any bride-to-be.
The Asterias headpiece is designed to reflect the idea of waves quietly breaking on a forgotten beach in the West fjords, nodding to how a marriage has a sense of an everlasting cycle of water that has no beginning and no end.
The second head piece, Drifa, reflects how the softest snowfall hides gleaming crystals that separate, re-connect, and form an unexpected whole. As unique as every snowflake and every bride, Drifa reflects a sense of purity and of new beginnings, while the Nanook hair band is similarly delicate and has fragile lines that reveal the tension and strength found in ice, and in every assured step a bride takes towards her groom.
