Having worked in the jewellery industry for 18 years, WatchPro Hot 100 brand champion, Steve Todd, has now decided to go freelance and launch his own sales agent business.
During his time in the industry progressing from a sales assistant to brand merchandiser, and on to regional sales manager, Todd has worked for prestigious brands including Accurist, Swatch Group, Seiko and Bering.
Now, Todd has decided to go self employed and launch his own company – ST Agencies.
Since taking the plunge to go solo, Todd has already secured Sif Jakobs Jewellery, Christina Design London and Obaku Watches as brands to represent in the South West of England and South Wales. He will also be confirming his involvement with a major supplier of mounts and rings in the forthcoming weeks.
Talking about his experience, Todd comments: “I have been fortunate enough to be given a good scope of autonomy as my career has progressed, and am very thankful to those brands who have given me the opportunity to look after their clients in the way that I like to work.
“I appreciate the challenges faced by retailers in servicing their customers and I strongly believe that they should expect and receive the same level of service from their brand representatives. For a long time I have felt capable enough to branch out on my own; for me now is the right time to be able to pursue that path.”
ST Agencies will be able to represent both branded and unbranded products, which will allow Todd to offer a good choice of jewellry to retailers with no conflict of interest.
“I have sought to only work with companies who are ambitious to grow, to work with their retailers, and that have come highly recommended,” adds Todd.
“Being based in Wiltshire, my focus is placed on the South West and South Wales but I am happy to cast my net a little wider if the opportunity is correct for the brands and retailers.”
