Forbes has come out with its 2018 billionaires list and jewellery business owners are riding high.

Clocking in at number four on the 2,208 strong list of global billionaires is Bernard Arnault & Family.

Behind only the creator of Amazon, the creator of Microsoft and a legendary investor, Arnault at number four on the overall list is the richest man in luxury goods.

Arnault (pictured top) is the chairman and CEO of LVMH and his net worth is estimated at $76 (£54) billion. Mr Arnault oversees 70 brands that include watch and jewellery brands.

LVMH’s jewellery and watch division controls Chaumet, Fred and Bulgari as well as Tag Heuer, Zenith and Hublot.

Just shy of making the top 10% of the list is the man, and family behind Richemont Group. Coming in at number 228 and having a worth of $7 billion, is Richemont Group chairman Johann Rupert.

Also worth a mention are the eponymous Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani and Nicola Bulgari, all having a wallet well over a billion strong.
