Industry trade show Jewellery & Watch Birmingham has announced over 30 new names are confirmed for the Design Quarter at the upcoming event.
With the launch of British Born & Made, an all-new curated area dedicated to showcasing the best of British jewellery design, the Design Quarter is set to showcase a strong desire for both ‘home grown’ and new collections at the show.
Among the confirmed line-up is Harsh & Sweet, who will be bringing its Stars and The Waves collection to the show. The Stars offers semi-precious stones suspended in coils of sterling silver, while The Waves adopts the ever-changing shapes of water and turn them into contemporary jewellery. The ear cuffs of this collection are little dewdrops which envelope the earlobe.
Claire Troughton returns to Jewellery & Watch after a number of years’ absence with a rebrand to celebrate her 20th anniversary in the industry. Specialising in bespoke wedding and engagement ring designs, Troughton will be launching her ‘Forest Ferns’ jewellery collection in sterling silver with rose gold plating. She will also showcase her iconic ‘Bouquet’ ring collection, inspired by the gentle movement of water, complimented with 18ct gold and diamonds.
Adding to the offering will be Kattri, presenting its new fine jewellery range – Asymmetry. This collection features white and lavender freshwater and black tahitian pearls set in 18ct yellow and rose gold, finished with diamonds. Inspiration taken from the Art Deco movement, a touch of elegant style has been paired with modernism and architectural form to bring this beautiful new collection together.
Launching at Jewellery & Watch this year is British brand Cornerstone Creations, a collection of classic wear-ability and contemporary flair. It is a jewellery range which varies from very commercial to striking sculptural forms. Designer Paul Spurgeon runs The Cornerstone Creations Project in South Africa, based on empowerment through the dignity of work and a sense of belonging. Cornerstone’s heart is rooted in touching people’s lives through a spirit of collaboration and encouragement to better themselves and ultimately their community.
