Lacoste watches are being distributed in the UK by MGS Distribution and Laurie Milne, marketing director at MGS’s parent company Steerwell Group, said that the colourful fashion watches had been well received in Lacoste’s own boutiques.

He added: “They were launched into 14 Lacoste shops to see how it went and it went really well so now it is open to wholesale.”

Milne added that the distributor is in talks with a major multiple about taking on Lacoste watches. He declined to name the retailer but said that the stockist would offer Lacoste a “reasonable distribution” should the deal prove successful.

The watches are already sold in the UK by leading fashion retailer Asos and watch retailer The Watch Hut.
