American singer-songwriter turned actress Lady Gaga wore $5 million (£3.9m) worth of Tiffany & Co diamonds on the Golden Globes red carpet last night (Jan 6).
The star, who scooped an award for Best Original Song at the 76th annual Golden Globes, wore a custom-made, sustainably sourced, Tiffany & Co ‘Aurora’ necklace adorned with 300 brilliant and pear-shaped diamonds and a radiant 20ct pear-shaped centre stone.
Tiffany & Co made the piece especially for Lady Gaga, who has topped all the fashion mag’s jewellery highlights of the night.
The exclusive piece pays homage to the stars as it nods to the film which gave Lady Gaga her 2019 Golden Globes nominations.
“The Tiffany Aurora necklace, specially crafted for Lady Gaga and today’s Globes, captures the majestic nature of her dress perfectly. Because this is such a special moment — her first major award show of the season — we wanted the jewellery and dress to complement each other. What could be more fitting than this exquisite custom piece, named after the goddess of dawn and a cluster of stars, to mark Lady Gaga’s wonderful work in A Star is Born?” said the star’s stylists, Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout, on the night.
Lady Gaga completed the look with $115,000 (£90K) diamond and platinum cluster earrings and a sparkly trio of bracelets, including a mix of pear, marquise and round brilliant diamonds.
Tiffany & Co chief artistic officer, Reed Krakoff, comments: “We are thrilled to dress our friend, fellow native New Yorker Lady Gaga for tonight’s Golden Globes. She is a visionary artist who truly exemplifies creativity and iconic style.”
