Laings the Jewellers won the Family Business of the Year accolade at the Glasgow Business Awards.

This honour comes a month after the two Laings family businesses, Laings of Glasgow and Laings Edinbrugh, re-merged as one company following Michael Laings retirement.

Now in the six generation of the Laing family, the jewellery retailer has been a family-run business since 1840 and the team were delighted to be recognised for continuing to strive and stay relevant to today’s consumers at the prestigious awards hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce on Thursday October 5 at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel.

Marketing director, Wendy Laing, comments: “We were absolutely delighted to win the Family Business of the Year Award. I am very proud of the heritage our company has and it is fantastic to still be recognised as an iconic Glasgow family business.

“The people who are part of the Laings family are key to our success and we have a great team on board. This allows us to continue our journey, remaining as Scotland’s oldest family jewellers.”

The Glasgow Business Awards promotes the achievements and celebrates the success of Glasgow businesses. With over 13 awards, from the Entrepreneur of the Year to Excellence in Communications, top businesses, organisations and individuals are honoured every year.
