Lighting specialist targets jewellery retailers with ‘smart light’ tech

Retail lighting specialist Parify is targeting retailers with smart lighting technology in the run up to Christmas.

The Smartlight intelligent lighting system uses ZigBee wireless technology which involves an app designed to give retailers opportunities to strategically push products.

The technology claims to allow retailers to be able to group up to 500 lights, create zones, install daylight sensors and dimmers and have the system controlled by as many as 10 tablets or smartphones, all operating wirelessly.

Parify said that jewellery retailers can group of the lights in a store’s diamond-displaying window and can change the colour of the lighting appropriately if the window display changes to yellow gold, for example.

This can be done using an app either with pre-programmed presets or with the slider. The firm also noted that optional extras include remote controls, daylight sensors, lux sensors and microwave sensors.
