It appears the end really is in sight for British jewellery brand, Links of London, as it has started launching closing down sales across the UK.
Despite hopes to find a buyer, the brand is now saying ‘everything must go’ and expects stock to sell fast as consumers look for bargains ahead of Christmas.
38 members of staff at Links of London’s head office were let go last week and now over 300 employees could lose their jobs before Christmas as the company commences closing down sales.
Signs at stores in the likes of Leeds, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Glasgow say ‘everything must go’, with prices being slashed on all products.
Jewels are also being brought in from the company’s warehouse in a bid to clear out all stock quickly.
Administrator, Deloitte, has yet to comment on the closures and the fate of the 350 staff members who work at the brand’s 28 standalone stores across the UK & Ireland.
Last time Deloitte spoke out, joint-administrator, Matt Smith, said: “Whilst we continue to talk to interested parties about a sale of the business, the ongoing cash-flow pressures mean the current cost base is not sustainable.”
