The Goldsmiths Company Assay Office is set to hold a Hallmarking Information Seminar in October, scheduled to take place at the Goldsmiths’ Hall on October 29.


The seminar will offer a comprehensive guide to hallmarking for retailers or those in the UK industry. It will touch upon topics such as the legal requirement of assaying and hallmarking precious metal articles sold in the UK.

Other topics include the history of hallmarking, what a hallmark actually means, recent amendments to the Hallmarking Act, the International Hallmarking Convention, how to use hallmarks to enhance your business, spotting fake marks and hands-on marking sessions.
