Luxury jewellery house names new chief executive


Luxury Swiss jewellery and watch brand de Grisogono has appointed Céline Assimon as its new chief executive.

The new chief exec, who succeeds John Leitao, brings with her a wealth of experience in luxury jewellery. Her last role was high jewellery and exceptional pieces director at Piaget. Prior to this she held the position of worldwide head of high jewellery and high watchmaking sales at Louis Vuitton.

In her role as chief exec at de Grisogono Assimon’s mission will be to pursue the development of the brand on an international scale while expanding its product offer to reach a wider clientele.

Chairman of the board at de Grisogono, Elmar Wiederin, comments on this new appointment: “The board extends a warm welcome to Céline. With her exceptional business track record, broad experience of the jewellery market and global luxury brands, she is the ideal person to lead the company on the next stage of its journey to becoming a global luxury brand.”

The new CEO shares: “There is something magical about joining de Grisogono, it is an extraordinary brand that I have admired for many year. I very much look forward to working with the talented team to develop the business, continuing the traditions of daring creativity and craftsmanship of which de Grisogono is know.”

Lats year de Grisogono has to cut jobs due to weak jewellery sales.

Looking ahead, the brand will mot be exhibiting at Baselworld (for the first time in 18 years), and the focus will be on reaching a wider range of clients.
