London-based designer joins growing portfolio of jewellers in St Christopher’s Place

London-based contemporary jewellery designer Maya Magal will be opening her second store in St Christopher’s Place at the end of April.

In addition to her flagship store on Upper Street, Islington the new St Christopher’s Place location will feature an in-house jewellery workshop where customers can see the pieces being made first-hand and personalise their own jewellery while they watch and wait.

Founder and chief exec of the namesake brand, Maya Magal, is the granddaughter of a renowned jeweller in Cairo, and has always been immersed in jewellery.

Whilst studying for her BA at Chelsea College of Art, Magal worked as an apprentice to Tony Thomson, a local jewellery mogul in Oxford, for three years. After stints as a Men’s Accessory Designer at Folk Clothing and serving as the Head Designer at jewellery brand Miquella, Maya Magal eventually launched her own brand from a humble studio in Hatton Garden in 2013.

After spending years at international trade shows, the designer brand is now focused on growing through its own stores and website, while pieces by Maya Magal London can still be found in some of the most prestigious retailers in the world, such as Harvey Nichols, Yoox, Shopbop and FarFetch.

Maya Magal London’s new store joins jewellery brand Astrid & Miyu, and luxury jewellers Steven Stone and Ingle & Rhode in St Christoper’s Place.
